Copilot in Windows: New Connectors and Document Creation Tools for Insiders

Microsoft has begun rolling out a new update for the Copilot app on Windows, introducing a set of features and enhancements aimed at optimizing the user experience. One of the main new additions is the implementation of “Connectors,” a tool that allows users to link various personal services, including OneDrive, Outlook, Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts. This functionality makes it easier to search for and access content across multiple accounts.

The search is based on natural language, enabling users to ask questions like “What is Sarah’s email address?” or “Find my school notes from last week.” Copilot will retrieve the relevant information from the connected accounts, thus simplifying access to important data.

Additionally, the update allows the creation and export of content in various file formats. Users can generate Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PDFs, and PowerPoint presentations directly from the Copilot session. With simple commands like “Export this text to a Word document” or “Create an Excel file from this table,” the app instantly transforms ideas and data into editable and shareable documents.

This update, corresponding to version 1.25095.161.0 and above, will begin to roll out across all Insider channels through the Microsoft Store. It is expected that the new features will be deployed gradually, meaning not all Insiders will receive the update at the same time. The Microsoft Copilot team has expressed excitement about sharing these improvements and has thanked users for their collaboration in assessing the app experience.
