Bizum has solidified its position as the leading option for instant mobile payments in Spain, reaching a remarkable figure of 29 million users and a 91% market penetration. In this context, Craftgate, a fintech specializing in payment orchestration, has completed the integration of Bizum into its payment method offerings in the country. This integration will enable businesses to easily connect Bizum with other payment methods, improving acceptance rates and reducing fees, while centralizing all transactions on a single platform, ensuring security and data protection.

Craftgate’s decision to incorporate Bizum responds to a growing trend: over 85% of companies plan to add alternative payment methods in the next three years. This evolution reflects the need to adapt to consumer expectations, which demand faster and safer payment solutions. With Craftgate’s technology, businesses will be able to manage all their online payment processes, both domestic and international, from a single application. With 29 million active users, Bizum not only leads the instant mobile payment sector, but also ranks second as the most used payment method in Spanish e-commerce, being accepted by over 86,000 online stores. In 2024, more than 123 million transactions were processed through the platform, totaling transfers exceeding 6.7 billion euros. Alicia Fernández, Bizum’s business development manager, reaffirms the commitment to provide users with a secure and convenient way to make purchases, and states that the availability of Bizum on more platforms will further increase its popularity.

Spain stands out in Europe for its adoption of immediate payments, with 6% of consumers using this option for their online purchases, slightly above the eurozone average. This preference is due to the ease of use, security, and privacy that both Bizum and Craftgate offer. In a move towards internationalization, Bizum has announced the possibility of making instant transfers to countries such as Italy, Portugal, and Andorra, marking a significant step in its expansion.
