The perception of home security has undergone a significant change in Europe, according to a recent report from Allianz Partners’ Customer Lab. The study reveals that 83% of respondents value feeling safe in their homes, marking a five-percentage-point increase since the last report conducted in 2022. This growth reflects a rising concern for domestic security, both for cyber risks and the threat of theft.
The study, which analyzes consumer behaviors and needs in areas such as home, mobility, health, and travel, emphasizes that families with children are particularly alert to threats to home security. This group demands comprehensive solutions that combine protection against physical and digital threats. Cristina Rosado, Head of Commercial for the Mobile Devices and Digital Risk (MDDR) line at Allianz Partners, commented: “We are seeing a transition from security concerns to cyber risk. Digital incidents have been identified as the top global risk, a trend that is also reflected at the individual level.”
Furthermore, the report highlights differences in concern for cybercrime according to generation and gender. Millennials with children are among the most anxious about digital threats and feel more vulnerable to cyberbullying. As for gender, women indicate feeling more susceptible to identity theft than men.
To address these concerns, Allianz Partners has launched solutions such as allyz Cyber Care, aimed at providing comprehensive protection against cyber threats. Cristina Rosado emphasizes the importance of understanding and responding to these concerns, providing personal assistance and monitoring of cyber risk.
These findings underscore the need to adapt to an environment where the boundaries between physical and digital blur, making home security a complex and multifaceted challenge.
