Eviden, the Atos Group division specializing in advanced computing solutions and cybersecurity, has recently introduced the new version of its emergency management platform, GEMMA V9. This release represents a significant advancement in the field of public safety communications in Europe, aligning with the standards of the Next Generation 112 (NG112) program and offering specialized modules for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Fire and Rescue operations.
GEMMA is an integrated system designed to optimize the operation of Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) and Emergency Response Organizations (EROs). It facilitates quick and efficient response in critical situations, allowing for complete management of the incident lifecycle, from the receipt of emergency calls to the coordination of resources in the field. With over 25 years of experience in critical missions, GEMMA has demonstrated its ability to enhance the effectiveness of emergency services in Europe and beyond.
One of the most notable innovations in GEMMA V9 is the GEMMA NG112 module for PSAPs, which introduces multimedia emergency communications. This module covers voice, video, real-time text, and data, all in accordance with the latest standards. This enhancement ensures interoperability between different emergency call centers and response teams.
Additionally, the new GEMMA module for EMS has been specifically designed to provide real-time patient triage and optimal resource allocation, improving both initial care and transfer to hospitals. Meanwhile, the GEMMA module for Fire and Rescue focuses on enhancing control of extinguishment and rescue operations through geolocation tools and dynamic risk assessment, ensuring precise coordination during missions.
Bernard Payer, Senior Vice President and Head of Critical Mission Systems at Eviden, commented that with GEMMA V9, a significant step toward next-generation public safety is taken, improving collaboration between emergency organizations and situational intelligence.
With this update, GEMMA reaffirms itself as a comprehensive modular platform, connecting Emergency Communication Centers with first responders and collaborating agencies in a unified digital ecosystem. Its flexible architecture allows for seamless integration with existing systems and new technologies, positioning organizations on a path of digital transformation toward fully connected public safety operations.
