Druva leverages Amazon Bedrock to simplify the creation of Dru, the AI Backup Co-Pilot.

Druva, a leading company in the field of data resilience and cybersecurity, has taken a significant step forward by integrating an artificial intelligence assistant into its data protection platform. This revolutionary assistant, known as Dru, promises to transform user interaction by using natural language queries, simplifying data management and analysis processes significantly.

Dru has been designed to allow users to have natural conversations with the software, enabling tasks such as detecting inconsistencies, scheduling backups, and overall system security improvement. Additionally, the assistant provides intelligent responses and direct links to relevant documentation, speeding up user training and issue resolution.

Powered by Amazon Bedrock, an Amazon Web Services tool, Dru’s AI enables natural language queries and provides responses in tabular data format. Implementing this technology had its challenges, such as initial slowness in AI agent responses and reasoning cycle complications. However, Druva adopted an innovative task chaining approach that significantly optimized response speed and accuracy.

One of the biggest challenges was correctly identifying the API path to answer user queries. To address this issue, Druva treated it as a classification task and split the generation and calling of private APIs into two separate steps. This strategy increased process robustness and minimized errors in interpreting API parameters.

Dru’s functionality extends to routine tasks like creating backup policies and personalized website navigation using conversational commands. This ability simplifies and democratizes operations for administrators while providing a role-based access control system.

The results achieved with the implementation of Amazon Bedrock are outstanding. Druva has achieved a 100% accuracy rate in API path identification and private API call generation, and a 90% rate in data transformation through Python code. These levels of accuracy demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the solution, allowing Druva to enhance user experience and expand its services.

Looking to the future, Druva aims to expand this solution to encompass an even greater number of APIs and continue enriching user interaction with their products. This expansion reinforces Druva’s commitment to becoming an innovative leader in the fields of cybersecurity and data management.
