Edenred has launched a new international campaign in collaboration with ShareTheMeal, an app from the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), with the aim of funding over 100,000 meals for people in vulnerable situations. This announcement was made at the ‘Nutrition for Growth’ summit, held in Paris on March 27 and 28.
The initiative aims to leverage Edenred’s extensive network, which has 60 million users in 45 countries, to mobilize support and donations. The company, specializing in digital payment solutions and social benefits, has decided to focus part of its efforts on fighting hunger, raising awareness among its users about the importance of ensuring access to nutritious and quality food.
With its vast experience in managing food programs globally, Edenred aligns with WFP’s social commitment, which provides food assistance to approximately 100 million people each year. This collaboration strengthens the joint fight against malnutrition, making a significant impact on communities around the world.
To facilitate the participation of its users and stakeholders, Edenred has designed various communication actions. This includes personalized emails, notifications through the app, and promotional banners. Those interested can join the “Edenred Challenge” through the ShareTheMeal app, where a donation of just €0.70 can provide a full meal to those in need.
Since its creation in 2015, ShareTheMeal has provided an accessible and direct method to help in the fight against hunger, emphasizing that every euro invested in nutrition can generate a significant economic return, with an average of €23 for the local economy. Edenred’s campaign aims not only to meet humanitarian needs but also to contribute to social and economic well-being, with the firm goal of reaching the target of 100,000 meals in this initial phase of collaboration.
