Expansion of Copilot+ availability on computers with new AMD and Intel silicon.

Today marks a significant milestone in the advancement of Copilot+ technology for PC, with the expansion of this revolutionary category through the introduction of new silicon technologies: the AMD Ryzen AI 300 series and the Intel Core Ultra 200V series. These developments underscore the continued commitment to innovation, aiming to offer users industry-leading artificial intelligence experiences, fast performance, extended battery life, seamless connectivity, enhanced security, and personalized productivity.

The first wave of innovation in Copilot+ PCs was powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus, in PCs designed by ecosystem partners such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, and Surface. The Snapdragon X Elite outperformed MacBook Air M3 platforms by up to 58%, meeting and often exceeding customer expectations in terms of performance.

Users have expressed satisfaction with Copilot+ PCs, highlighting that both performance and battery life have exceeded their expectations. These PCs also feature industry-leading Wi-Fi 7 and “chip-to-cloud” security through Microsoft Pluton. Developers are creating incredible experiences leveraging neural processing unit (NPU) technology, with more innovations on the way. Customer stories inspire us, like those using new AI experiences such as live captions with translation, enabling them to communicate in different languages, or the co-creator in Paint, fostering their creativity and helping them materialize their ideas.

Today, whether for work, study, or play, we all manage multiple tasks simultaneously, such as open browser tabs, multiple applications running, and complex tasks. The ability to balance short and long tasks is crucial for a fast and responsive experience, and Copilot+ PCs achieve this without compromising battery life. With over 90% of time in native experiences, including popular apps like Chrome, Zoom, Brave, Photoshop, Opera, Slack, Spotify, among others, customers enjoy the optimal performance they expect on these devices.

Together with our ecosystem partners, we are fully committed to Copilot+ PCs. AMD and Intel have introduced next-generation improvements in their Ryzen AI 300 and Intel Core Ultra 200V processors. Thanks to our close co-engineering partnerships and updates in Windows 11, Copilot+ PCs with this latest silicon will fully leverage these hardware enhancements, resulting in significant advancements in performance, battery life, security, and connectivity. Regarding AI, we will continue innovating, bringing new features, devices, and platforms that will offer new experiences to empower our customers. This attention and innovation mean that some features will be previewed first with our Windows Insider Community before being widely available on Copilot+ PCs. Eligible AMD and Intel devices will start receiving new AI experiences as of November through free Windows updates.

The features included in the free updates are:

– Live captions with translation
– Windows Studio Effects (background effects: standard blur, portrait blur, eye contact, and auto framing)
– Co-creator in Paint
– Photos: Restyle image and Image Creator

As previously shared, these updates will start rolling out first for our Windows Insider Community starting in October.

The new era of AI PCs is driving rapid innovation for our customers, with productivity, creativity, and security at the core of it all. There is an unprecedented number of Copilot+ PC designs coming to market, and we can’t wait to see the exciting announcements from our partners at IFA this week. Stay tuned for more updates and join us as we continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with Copilot+ PCs.
