Generation Z is significantly transforming the concept of mobility today. This group, born between 1997 and 2012, prioritizes digitalization and sustainability, opting for experiences over the ownership of goods. As their incomes rise, they are also changing traditional consumption patterns, preferring access to mobility services rather than owning a vehicle.
In the United States, young people from this generation are leading the automotive sector, car leasing, and shared mobility. It is expected that by 2031, their total spending will surpass that of Millennials, highlighting a trend of detachment from car ownership, which they view more as a means of transportation than a status symbol.
Among their main concerns are economic stability and financial management. A study indicates that 15.3% of Generation Z has reached their limit on credit card usage, reflecting their growing interest in sustainability: 28% would choose an electric vehicle, a figure that increases to 64% if hybrids are also considered.
Flexibility is another crucial aspect in this context. Mobility services need to adapt to their changing needs, with nearly 60% of people under 45 expressing a preference for purchasing vehicles online, wanting to avoid cumbersome traditional processes.
In response to these new demands, REVEL has emerged, a company dedicated to 100% digital leasing. This model aligns with the expectations of Generation Z, offering an optimized experience without complicated paperwork and transparent contracts. According to José Luis Sánchez, Head of Marketing at REVEL, “Generation Z is redefining mobility,” emphasizing that their interest lies in enjoying the benefits of a vehicle without the complications of ownership.
