The Dales la Palabra Foundation is preparing to commemorate an important event on November 29th at the Four Seasons Hotel in Madrid, where they will celebrate the fifth edition of the Dales la Palabra Awards during a charitable dinner. This year, the occasion will not only celebrate the biennial awards that recognize efforts in favor of people with disabilities, but it will also mark the 25th anniversary of the Foundation itself, under the motto “25 years giving voice to inclusion.”
Since its creation, the Foundation has worked closely with key institutions in Health, Education, and Labor, focusing on the social inclusion of people living with disabilities. This year’s awards aim to recognize individuals, professionals, institutions, and companies whose work has favored the quality of life and equal opportunities for people with disabilities in different areas such as education, sports, culture, employment, and access to new technologies.
Among the awardees of this edition is the ONCE Foundation, recognized for its persistent work in the social and labor integration of disabled people. Since its foundation in 1988, it has devoted two-thirds of its budget to training and employment, promoting professional qualifications and an accessible environment for its beneficiaries.
Another awarded entity is CODEPEH, recognized for its essential role in the early detection of hearing loss in children in Spain. Their work has enabled the implementation of programs that promote early intervention, improving the linguistic and social development of these minors.
Additionally, Mrs. Inmaculada Placencia Porrero will be honored for her contribution to the rights of people with disabilities at the international level due to her work in promoting accessibility policies within the European Commission.
Telefónica España will also be recognized for their efforts in promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities within their workforce. Their initiatives aim to ensure physical and digital accessibility in the workplace, highlighting their commitment to diversity and equal opportunities.
Lastly, speech therapist Mrs. Inés Rodríguez will be honored for her innovative and relevant participation in media such as “El Intermedio” on La Sexta, where she has become a promoter of inclusive discourse on disability.
Since its foundation in 1999, the Dales la Palabra Foundation has remained faithful to its mission of promoting the educational and labor inclusion of people with disabilities, with a special focus on those with hearing disabilities. This anniversary event not only celebrates the achievements made, but also strengthens their commitment to a more inclusive future, reaffirming the importance of continuing to work towards a society where everyone has a place and a voice.
