Good’Buy Shines in Barcelona: Sustainable Shopping at Mercat de la Concepció.

At a significant event held at the Mercat de la Concepció in Barcelona, the innovative company Roll’eat has launched its new Good’Buy range, created with the aim of eliminating the use of disposable containers when purchasing fresh food. The presentation brought together sustainability experts, merchants, and journalists, who had the opportunity to experience the functionality of the flagship products up close: Good’Bag and Good’Wrap.

Good’Bag is a practical bag with two compartments, designed to organize purchases by separating fruits and vegetables in its breathable section and more delicate foods in a waterproof compartment. On the other hand, Good’Wrap is used to wrap and transport meats, cold cuts, and fish, thus eliminating the need for trays and single-use wrappings. It is estimated that by using these products, each person could avoid more than 600 disposable items per year, which represents a significant advancement in waste reduction.

Rosa García, director of the organization Rezero, highlighted during the event the importance of developing accessible solutions that facilitate consumers to adopt more sustainable shopping habits. García emphasized that many people want to make changes, but face barriers due to the lack of suitable options. Meritxell Hernández, founder and CEO of Roll’eat, emphasized that Good’Buy is not just a set of products, but a resource that seeks to transform daily consumption towards greater sustainability without compromising convenience.

The merchants present showed their enthusiasm for the Good’Buy proposal, highlighting its practicality and how it facilitates the integration of this new solution into their daily routines and businesses. This launch comes at a time where in Catalonia, each resident uses approximately 575 bags per year, and single-use containers dominate in markets and local businesses.

The receptivity towards the Good’Buy products indicates a growing awareness among consumers and merchants about the need to adopt more responsible consumption practices. The day at the Mercat de la Concepció demonstrates that it is possible to shop more sustainably and without generating waste, thus laying the foundation for a significant transformation in consumption habits within the community.
