Culinaria, a Galician company with more than twelve years of experience, has established itself as a reference in the preparation and distribution of healthy food delivery in Galicia. Its focus is on traditional, balanced cuisine adapted to the nutritional needs of each client. Founded in Silleda, a town with rich gastronomic traditions, Culinaria is characterized by its social commitment, serving vulnerable people, the elderly, and those facing difficulties in their daily lives.
The Xantar na Casa program, developed in collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia, ensures that more than 4,500 people receive balanced, safe, and quality meals daily. Marcelo Torres, head of the R&D department at Culinaria, highlights that the service was born from identifying a real need in the market: “There was no home delivery service adapted to the needs of people with difficulties.” The company set out to create a model that not only made life easier for these groups, but also offered quality, tasty, and healthy dishes reminiscent of traditional cuisine.
To maintain this level of quality, Culinaria uses artisanal processes and local raw materials to make their own broths without preservatives or artificial colorings. The company works exclusively with seasonal products and local suppliers, ensuring that the menus delivered not only meet high food safety standards, but are also designed to be nutritionally balanced, catering to various dietary needs.
Culinaria’s role goes beyond simply preparing and distributing food. According to Torres, “our delivery drivers are often the only visit these people receive all week.” This interaction allows them to identify concerning situations and alert the corresponding social services, thus performing an important social function that becomes crucial support for many families and for the social care system as a whole.
In response to new market demands, Culinaria has expanded its capacity and begun to diversify its offer towards the horeca sector (hotels, restaurants, and cafeterias), as well as retail, including supermarkets, hostels, and rural houses. Each order is prepared on demand and delivered in optimal conservation conditions thanks to internally developed innovative technology that ensures food safety without the need for additives. With this approach, Culinaria demonstrates that it is possible to integrate innovation, social responsibility, and sustainability into a single business model.
