On December 23, 2024, Dr. Jenniffer Linares, a researcher at the Hospital del Mar Research Institute, received a prestigious grant from the Digestive Tumor Treatments Group (TTD). This recognition is awarded as part of the 32nd International TTD Symposium on Advances in Digestive Tumor Treatment, where the latest advances in research on this disease are discussed.
Dr. Linares is part of the Precision Medicine Research Group in Colorectal Cancer, led by Dr. Clara Montagut. The grant will be used for her project titled “Clinical impact of CAF-secreted biomarkers in RAS wild-type metastatic CRC patients treated within the CR-SEQUENCE clinical trial.” This study aims to identify tumor microenvironment-derived biomarkers that can predict the response to chemotherapy and anti-EGFR treatments in metastatic colon and rectal cancer patients with RAS “wild type” profile.
The symposium also highlighted the participation of other prominent researchers, such as Dr. Mar Iglesias and Dr. Clara Montagut, who presented papers on topics related to digestive cancer. The awarding of this grant and the contributions to the symposium reflect Hospital del Mar’s strong commitment to oncological research and improving treatments for this disease.
