IFA 2024: Asus’ portfolio will include Copilot+ PCs with Intel Core Ultra processors.

In May, Microsoft announced a new category of devices: the Copilot+ PCs. These computers are the fastest and smartest ever built with Windows, and feature a new chip with NPUs capable of performing over 40 trillion operations per second (TOPS), batteries that last all day, and innovative experiences based on artificial intelligence (AI). This reinvention of the PC has AI at its core, marking the most significant change to the Windows platform in decades.

Now, at the IFA electronics fair, held annually in Berlin, the Copilot+ PCs were the main attraction alongside Microsoft partners, including ASUS, who announced new Copilot+ models for their Zenbook and Vivobook laptop lines. Consumers will start seeing Copilot+ experiences on these laptops starting later this year through free Windows updates.

These new devices, equipped with Intel Core Ultra 9 processors with integrated NPUs capable of delivering up to 48 TOPS, will provide unique AI capabilities to Windows 11. Among the highlighted models is the Zenbook S 14, a premium and ultraportable 14-inch device that weighs less than 1.2 kg and is less than 1.27 cm thick. This model features an exterior cover made of an exclusive ASUS material called Ceraluminium, which combines the tactile feel of ceramic with the strength of aluminum. Its performance is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, enabling advanced AI experiences. Additionally, it has a 120 Hz OLED 3K display, a four-speaker sound system for cinematic audio experiences, AI-based noise cancellation for clear conferences, and an AiSense FHD IR camera that enhances video interactions.

On the other hand, the Vivobook S 14, with Intel Core Ultra 7 processors and 47 NPU TOPS power, stands out for its ability to efficiently run AI applications. A dedicated Copilot key allows for quick AI assistance to optimize workflow. Its 75 Wh battery provides up to 27 hours of use without the need to recharge, ideal for daily productivity. Its metal chassis, just 1.27 cm thick, houses two IceBlade fans with 97 blades and two air vents, ensuring optimal performance without overheating even during demanding tasks.

Furthermore, the Intel Core Ultra 7 processors also power the convertible laptops Vivobook 14 Flip and Vivobook 16 Flip, equipped with FHD NanoEdge and 3K OLED touchscreens respectively. These models feature a 360-degree hinge that allows smooth transitions between laptop, tent, stand, or tablet modes. Support for ASUS Pen 2.0 adds versatility, and ultra-fast Wi-Fi 7 connectivity along with a wide range of I/O ports increase their practicality for mobile work.
