The company introduced several innovative tools aimed at facilitating the creation of software experiences in future generations, highlighting the opening of the source code of the Windows Subsystem for Linux, which promotes smoother integration of Linux into the Windows environment.

Among the new releases, Microsoft Foundry was launched, formerly known as Windows AI Foundry, which serves as a unified platform for AI development, with support for CPU, GPU, and NPU. Native integration of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) was also introduced, creating a standard framework that allows AI agents to easily connect with various applications.

These efforts reflect Microsoft’s goal of making AI agent interactions more effective, secure, and manageable, enabling developers and organizations to adopt these technologies with confidence. Another interesting concept is Agent Identity (Agent ID), which provides a unique identification to facilitate auditing of agent actions, allowing IT administrators to distinguish between agent interactions and user actions. This new infrastructure is designed with a focus on user data security, implementing default security policies and rigorous privacy controls.

Furthermore, new artificial intelligence APIs were presented that will allow developers to add video enhancements and image generation to their applications, enriching the user experience on Windows devices. With these innovations and the integration of Microsoft Foundry, the company aims to position Windows as a leader in the field of artificial intelligence.
