Improving the Xbox App Experience on Arm®-Based Windows 11 PCs

The Xbox app experience on Arm-based Windows 11 devices will be significantly enhanced thanks to a new update starting its rollout today. This change will allow users to download games and play locally from the app, thereby expanding the catalog of titles available for those subscribed to PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate.

The collaboration between the Windows and Xbox teams is strengthened by this advancement as they work together to ensure compatibility of their game library and develop new features. This effort aims to make more titles accessible on Arm-based PCs, which is expected to be incorporated in the coming months. To facilitate this, Windows Insiders are being invited to participate in testing that will ensure full access to their game libraries.

The update, identified as version 2508.1001.27.0 and later, will be available to Windows Insiders participating in the PC Gaming Preview program. Joining this initiative is straightforward: interested users need to download the Xbox Insider Hub from the Microsoft Store, sign in with their Microsoft account, and join the ‘PC Gaming’ section. Once registered, they can look for updates in the store and access the new version of the app.

It’s important to note that the update will be rolled out gradually, meaning that some Insiders will receive the upgrade before others. Additionally, participants will still have the ability to provide feedback through the program menu, allowing them to report issues or suggest improvements directly.

With this update, Windows 11 users on Arm devices have a new reason to enjoy their gaming experience even more.
