The city of Barcelona recently hosted the second edition of the highly anticipated Innovation Day, a prominent event organized by the Spanish Association of Food Supplements (AFEPADI). This gathering brought together more than 120 participants from across Spain, focusing on fostering innovation within the food supplements sector, with a special emphasis on the development of new ingredients that can revitalize the industry.
The day kicked off with an inspiring keynote address by Raimon Puigjaner, co-founder and president of B Corp Spain. Titled ‘Innovation as a Driver of Corporate Sustainability,’ Puigjaner highlighted the growing importance of environmental sustainability in the business world. Through practical examples, he emphasized the need to prioritize the use of regenerative resources and shared various strategies to facilitate companies’ transition towards more sustainable models.
During the Innovation Day, fourteen leading companies in ingredient manufacturing had the opportunity to showcase their latest innovations. These advancements, which include active ingredients with the potential to positively impact various areas of health and well-being, reflect the sector’s ongoing commitment to the quality, safety, and efficacy of their products.
Through initiatives like this, AFEPADI aims to strengthen the sector by inviting more companies to join its cause. The association remains active in creating a favorable regulatory environment to support its members, while also promoting strategic partnerships that drive growth and innovation in the food supplements sector.
Founded in 1943, AFEPADI has established itself as an authority in the field of food supplements, sports nutrition, and weight control products in Spain. The association serves as an intermediary between sector companies and government entities, advocating for the common interests of its members and maintaining constant dialogue at both national and international levels.
