Innovative inclusive academic program to boost sustainability and digitalization

The Complutense University of Madrid, in collaboration with the VASS Foundation, has announced the launch of the University Diploma in Sustainability and Digitalization. This innovative program is designed for people of all ages and employment situations and offers significant financial aid to facilitate access for those who want to be part of the change.

The VASS Foundation, part of the global company VASS, a leader in digital transformation, believes that the future lies in digitalization and sustainability, and that it is essential for that future to be inclusive. Therefore, the diploma is not restricted to a specific profile: recent graduates, professionals looking to improve their skills, and people in career transition are welcome. In order to make it even more accessible, 20 financial aid packages are offered that cover more than half of the program’s cost.

Antonio Rueda, director of the VASS Foundation, highlighted: “We eliminate economic barriers and give an opportunity to all those who want to be at the forefront. Spain needs to increase talent in these two key areas. We have worked together with UCM to develop this academic project and now it is a reality. We are very satisfied and hope to contribute to forming a ecosystem of professionals who drive the country’s transformation, placing it at the forefront of the world”.

The program is characterized by its flexibility, practicality, and real focus. It is designed for people with diverse lives and responsibilities. Classes combine face-to-face and online modalities, taking place on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings, allowing those who work or have commitments to participate without inconveniences. The VASS Foundation states: “We believe it is important to identify talent, train, and obtain high-level professionals for our country”.

According to Gustavo Romanillos, from UCM, “In five months, participants will learn about sustainability and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence or Big Data. In addition, they will acquire practical tools applicable from the first day in their professional life and in their evolution projects”.

The diploma stands out not only for its innovative and accessible approach but also for the quality of its faculty, composed of more than 23 experts with international experience, including renowned academics and business executives. Among them are the Director of Communication and Institutional Relations of the United Nations Global Compact in Spain and the Lead Climate Change Specialist at the World Bank. This team will provide a transformative and practical view of the current challenges in sustainabilty and digitalization.

The program also emphasizes the creation of a support and networking network. Antonio Rueda commented: “We want participants to get to know each other, share ideas, and establish contacts that help them grow. We organize round tables to discuss real cases of companies that are already leading the change towards sustainability. Not only knowledge is acquired, but also a support network is created among professionals with the same vision”.

Registration for this inclusive program is now open and does not impose age or employment status limits. “Whoever you are, if you are eager to continue growing, learning, and being part of the change, this diploma is for you,” concluded the organizers.
