The Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Light Facades and Windows (ASEFAVE) has announced the first round of discussions for its 2nd International Congress on Windows, Facades, and Solar Protection. Scheduled for November 13th and 14th in Madrid, the event promises to be a crucial meeting point for industry representatives, government agencies, and experts to debate current challenges in construction and rehabilitation.
A key topic at the congress will be Global Warming Potential (GWP), focusing on Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). This panel will feature experts from leading companies like Saint Gobain, AGC, Aluplast, and Hydro, with Adrián Moreno of Technoform moderating. The aim is to delve into how these factors impact the industry’s sustainability.
Another significant aspect will be the participation of María Teresa Verdú, Director General of Urban Agenda and Architecture at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda. Verdú will introduce the new Basic Document on Sustainability (DB HSA) of the Building Technical Code, a pivotal issue for the sector’s future. The congress will also discuss the need to attract new professionals, tackling generational turnover and vocational training, with a special focus on integrating young people and women into the workforce.
ASEFAVE is also keen on promoting debate on emerging topics such as artificial intelligence in construction, modular prefabrication, and fire simulation in facade design. Attendance is expected to significantly surpass that of the first edition, with hopes of doubling the number of participants.
Established in 1977, ASEFAVE remains dedicated to defending the sector’s interests, coordinating the efforts and claims of its members. The association is led by President Miguel Robles, along with a board of directors that includes vice-presidents and vocal supporters backing his administration.
