Karbon-X Becomes the Official Sponsor of the BK Dukes Basketball Team.

Karbon-X Corp., a pioneer in climate solutions, has formalized a multi-year agreement making it the official sponsor of the Austrian basketball team BK Dukes. Starting this season, the team will compete under the new name BK Karbon-X Dukes, symbolizing a joint commitment to sustainability and innovation in sports.

The collaboration between the two organizations emerges in a context where sustainability is becoming increasingly crucial. The BK Dukes, recently awarded the title of Austrian Cup Champions for 2024-2025, will work alongside Karbon-X to implement concrete sustainability measures. Notably, they will create annual reports on their emissions and offset all direct and indirect emissions. An emissions offset fee will also be introduced on tickets to minimize the environmental impact associated with fan attendance.

Matt Kauffman, Executive Vice President of Sports and Entertainment at Karbon-X, notes that this partnership represents a new way to approach climate action, which should be “visible, energetic, and engaging.” Through this alliance, Karbon-X aims to demonstrate that environmental leadership can be bold and integrated with the sports realm, thereby elevating the profile of sustainability within the community.

The team’s new identity will be officially launched in the 2025-2026 season, accompanied by a series of joint initiatives between Karbon-X and the BK Dukes. This partnership is part of a broader strategy by Karbon-X to expand its climate solutions in Europe and North America.
