In particular, Osaka has stood out with an 84% increase in searches, a figure also influenced by a 16% drop in the average price of flights to this vibrant city.
The KAYAK analysis highlights that Spanish tourists are showing an increasing inclination towards destinations that offer more than the traditional sun and beach. More than 70% of the most searched destinations are places that promise unique adventures and explorations. Additionally, there is a rising trend in the anticipation of bookings, with a 9% increase in searches for flights within Spain and a 7% increase for international flights in the upcoming summer season of 2025.
Among the most popular destinations are global hubs like Tokyo, New York, and Bangkok, with Denpasar also making the list. Significantly, there has been a notable 43% increase in searches for premium class flights, indicating a growing desire to enhance the flying experience among travelers.
Beyond these highlights, the KAYAK study also reveals an increase in interest in other destinations such as Kuala Lumpur, London, and Bogotá. In America, cities like San Francisco, New York, and Orlando continue to capture interest, suggesting a persistent fascination with the “American dream” among Spaniards.
The reduction in ticket prices is playing a crucial role in these decisions. In particular, Bogotá has seen a 15% decrease in costs, with similar, albeit smaller, decreases observed for places like Kuala Lumpur and New York.
There is an obvious paradigm shift in the travel interests of Spaniards, and KAYAK aims to establish itself as a strategic ally by offering the Explore tool, which allows users to search for the best deals tailored to different budgets.
