Samsung Electronics has officially announced a collaboration with video game developers Nexon Korea and Neople, with the goal of offering unprecedented 3D gaming experiences in their upcoming release, ‘The First Berserker: Khazan’. This game, specifically designed with three-dimensional elements, will be based on Samsung’s advanced Odyssey 3D monitor technology, creating an immersive experience for players.
During the development process, the three companies have worked together to customize the 3D visuals, meticulously adjusting the three-dimensional effects based on character composition, backgrounds, and cinematic scenes. This approach provides developers with unprecedented control over the 3D effects, allowing them to accurately realize their creative visions.
Yongjae Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, commented on the collaboration, emphasizing that this partnership will facilitate an unparalleled gaming experience. “The collaboration between Samsung and Nexon will provide an unmatched gaming experience with ‘The First Berserker: Khazan’ on the Odyssey 3D monitor,” he stated. Kim also noted that the company will continue to expand its partnerships with premium gaming companies globally.
Nexon and Neople are adjusting the focal distance of the 3D effects depending on various situations in the game. This will not only allow better control over when and how elements become three-dimensional, but also aims to reduce crosstalk, a common phenomenon that causes visual overlaps. These efforts are especially significant during critical moments such as epic boss battles and cinematic scenes, where clarity is essential.
Choi Sung-wook, head of Nexon’s live publishing division, highlighted that this partnership marks a significant advancement in creating a competitive international 3D gaming model, promoting innovation across the industry. “We are excited for players worldwide to experience the vibrant graphics and complexity of the game in ‘The First Berserker: Khazan’,” Choi mentioned.
‘The First Berserker: Khazan’ is a hardcore action role-playing game that immerses players in the legendary journey of Khazan, within the universe of Nexon’s popular Dungeon & Fighter franchise. The worldwide release date is scheduled for March 28th, according to KST schedule.
The Odyssey 3D monitor, unveiled at CES 2024 and honored with the Best of Innovation award, will be launched globally in April, promising to revolutionize 3D technology and elevate the gaming experience for players worldwide.
