The Clipmetrajes Festival 2025 has taken a significant step by announcing an innovative collaboration between Manos Unidas, the Catalonia Film and Audiovisual School (ESCAC), and the production company Mundo Cero, led by the respected director Ibon Cormenzana. This alliance aims to motivate emerging filmmakers to actively participate in the festival, offering an exceptional prize that includes the opportunity to travel to Zambia to film a documentary short film with full creative freedom.
The first prize of this edition offers the winner the opportunity to closely collaborate with a member of the Mundo Cero team throughout all stages of the project, from pre-production to post-production. Manos Unidas is committed to covering the necessary travel expenses for post-production at ESCAC’s facilities, ensuring that the final product meets the highest quality standards.
Those interested in participating can submit their clipmetrajes until May 5, 2025. Multiple works can be submitted, as long as they meet the established requirements: the maximum duration is 1 minute and 10 seconds, they must be recorded in horizontal format, and address the festival theme: “Justice is spelled with a C for Share”. Additionally, the works must be original, unpublished, and not have been awarded in other competitions.
In addition to the first prize, the festival includes other awards, including a Canon product and a day of access to the cyclorama Studio 35 set for the second place, a Canon product for the third place, and a €100 gift card for the Audience Award, sponsored by Intermedia Producciones.
This year, the Clipmetrajes Festival emphasizes its commitment to social change through cinema, providing a unique platform for audiovisual creators to express their ideas and contribute to the defense of justice and the common good. For more information on how to participate, interested parties can consult the bases available in the General Category section of the festival’s website.
This initiative not only fosters creativity and talent among filmmakers but also highlights the importance of collaboration and exchange as essential tools for building a more just and equitable world.
