In a significant step toward sustainability, Hotel Villa Cacabelos in Castilla y León has inaugurated a photovoltaic plant that will achieve 33.81% energy independence. This initiative, driven by MASPV, a leading Spanish company in the solar energy sector, marks its entry into the hospitality industry, reaffirming its commitment to innovative and eco-friendly energy solutions.
The plant, which began operating in July 2025, has a peak power of 20.2 kWp and covers a net area of 90.3 m². It has been equipped with Longy Full Black LR7-60HTB-505M modules, known for their high efficiency and durability, as well as a SUNFER 02.1 V anchoring system for robust installation. The Huawei inverters used ensure optimal performance and efficient management of the produced energy.
With this installation, Hotel Villa Cacabelos not only reduces its dependence on external sources but also contributes to a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions. It is estimated that the plant will generate 26,267 kWh annually, translating into a reduction of approximately 10.51 tons of CO₂ and the preservation of about 117 trees each year. Additionally, an expected saving of around 9.56 tons of coal is anticipated annually.
Marco De Bianchi, general director of MASPV Spain, emphasized the importance of this project in the company’s evolution, stating that the move into the hospitality sector solidifies its position as a provider of sustainable energy solutions across multiple industries.
With over two decades of experience in the photovoltaic sector, MASPV has established more than 500 MW of capacity in various countries, including Spain, China, and Mexico. The company offers a self-consumption model called Energy Management Contract (EMC), which allows organizations to benefit from greater independence from the grid without needing to finance the solar installation, ensuring reduced energy prices in the medium and long term.
This initiative positions MASPV as a leader in energy projects that promote more sustainable and responsible tourism, thereby reaffirming its commitment to the environment and sustainability.
