COSITAL Toledo has held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Local Administration, Eusebio Robles, in a meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration between this entity and the Deputy Ministry. The event took place at one of the regional government offices in Toledo and marks a significant step following the recent renewal of the COSITAL Board of Directors.
During the meeting, the new members of the Board were introduced, which is chaired by Almudena García Figueroa. This management team also includes Ignacio Prieto as first vice president, Manuel Delgado as second vice president, Sonia Justo as secretary, Ana Sara Serrano as assistant secretary, Paola Robles as treasurer-controller, and María del Mar García del Cid as assistant treasurer-controller. The new Board expressed their willingness to work closely with the Deputy Ministry on issues affecting both the interests of municipalities and the national habilitated collective.
One of the most relevant points discussed in the meeting was the importance of improving the training of secretaries, controllers, and interim secretary-controllers. The creation of an agreement that allows mentoring by national habilitated individuals was suggested, which will be discussed in a future meeting between the Deputy Minister and Rafael Santiago, president of COSITAL CLM.
Additionally, the offer of 1,000 positions for national habilitated individuals was highlighted, which will allow autonomous communities to carry out selection processes and access courses for aspiring local government officials. Castilla-La Mancha will have 103 of these positions, which will help reduce the deficit of habilitated individuals in the region. COSITAL has indicated that there are still numerous vacancies in positions reserved for national habilitated individuals, in addition to the need to reclassify Secretariats in certain municipalities.
On the other hand, the upcoming modification of Decree 23/2022, which regulates the selection and appointment procedure for interim officials in local administration, was also discussed.
Almudena García Figueroa thanked Deputy Minister Robles for his openness to dialogue and his continuous support, emphasizing the good relationship established between the two institutions. In turn, Robles reaffirmed the commitment of the regional government to collaborate with COSITAL for the benefit of the citizens, ensuring readiness to implement actions that are helpful for municipalities and their residents.
