Mohawk Industries Announces Promotion of Mauro Vandini to President of Global Ceramic Segment

Mohawk Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MHK), a leading international manufacturer of flooring and surface coverings, is pleased to announce the promotion of Mauro Vandini to the position of President of the Global Ceramic Segment, effective September 15, 2024. Vandini, who has been instrumental in the expansion and success of Mohawk’s European ceramic business, will continue to lead his current team while embracing this new role.

Vandini’s promotion is a testament to his extensive knowledge in ceramic product manufacturing, sales, and marketing, as well as his ability to implement improvements across all business areas. “I have been working with Mauro since we acquired Marazzi in 2013, and I greatly respect his deep understanding of the industry and his skill in enhancing our business operations,” said Jeff Lorberbaum, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mohawk.

Since acquiring Dal-Tile in 2002, Mohawk has become the world’s largest producer of ceramic tiles. The company boasts manufacturing facilities in eight countries across three continents and sells its products in approximately 140 countries. Vandini has been pivotal in developing close partnerships with the leaders of Mohawk’s regional ceramic businesses, with a focus on optimizing performance and delivering exceptional design, quality, and value to customers.

Beginning his career in 1983 at Marazzi Group, Vandini has held several key positions before becoming CEO of the group. Following Mohawk’s acquisition of Marazzi, he took charge of Mohawk’s European ceramic business operations. Under his leadership, the company has modernized its European ceramic operations, expanded into new markets in Italy, Bulgaria, and Poland, and successfully integrated into the rapidly growing porcelain slab market.

“It is an honor to lead Mohawk’s Global Ceramic Segment,” Vandini stated. “I look forward to working with our talented regional leaders to benefit our customers, partners, and investors. As the world’s largest manufacturer of ceramic tiles, we will continue to focus on innovative designs that revolutionize the industry, ensure operational excellence, and exceed our global customers’ expectations.”

Chris Wellborn will support Vandini during the transition to Director of the Global Ceramic Segment. Wellborn will continue in his roles as President and Chief Operating Officer of Mohawk, working alongside Lorberbaum to drive strategies that maximize the company’s long-term outcomes as the flooring and surface coverings industry recovers.
