New Era in Driver Training: The DGT and Education Transform Teacher and Instructor Training.

The recent publication of Royal Decree 208/2025 has marked a milestone in professional training related to mobility, promoting a significant transformation in the teaching of Safe and Sustainable Mobility. This reform, considered by DAC Teaching as “a real revolution”, not only diversifies the training offer, but also introduces modular pathways that allow access to higher qualifications.

The new legislative framework presents more than 30 courses distributed in three different levels: A, B, and C. Among the most notable innovations are four qualifications at level C, which open the door to highly demanded professions, such as Road Education Teacher, Points License Monitor, Mobility Advisor, and Road Educator. These programs seek to facilitate progressive and accumulative training, adapting learning to the sector’s demands and promoting employability through specialization.

In a first phase, the law establishes the creation of four Professional Certificates at level C, five Competence Certificates at level B, and 22 Partial Competence Accreditation at level A. The Professional Certificates at level C cover various areas, including the development of road education programs in institutions and advisory in safe and sustainable mobility.

To access the title of Road Education Teacher, there are currently three pathways: the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) offers specific courses, one can opt for the Certificate of Aptitude for Road Education Teacher at level C FP or the Title of “Higher Technician in Training for Safe and Sustainable Mobility” at level D FP, which provides broad qualifications to perform various roles in the field of road safety and road education.

Elisa Capote, CEO of DAC Teaching, has expressed her gratitude to the DGT and the Ministry of Education for their collaboration in facilitating this transition towards a more comprehensive and updated educational model. Capote highlighted the relevance of the participation of experts in the recent 5th Conference on Transport and Safe and Sustainable Mobility FP, where these significant advances in professional training were shared.
