New Windows 11 Insider Build 27909 Preview in the Canary Channel

Microsoft has recently released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27909 for the Canary channel, offering users a range of improvements and fixes. This update aims to optimize the experience for Insiders using it on their devices.

One of the most relevant fixes includes addressing an issue with the Xbox app, which would not launch when admin protection was enabled, causing errors in other applications. Additionally, a bug in the battery section of the system settings, which caused the charge percentage to disappear in previous versions, has been resolved.

Other significant improvements include resolving graphical distortions in the Remote Desktop app for Arm64 devices, as well as a critical error that caused crashes in the pcasvc.dll service. There has also been a fix for a problem that occurred when disconnecting devices from Media Player, which kept showing disconnection options.

Despite these improvements, some known issues persist. New Copilot+ users migrating from other channels may experience loss of access to their PIN and biometric data, displaying a specific error code. There have also been reports of security crashes in the kernel after the update, particularly when connecting to VPN. Interestingly, Insiders have noticed the Windows Vista startup sound instead of the Windows 11 sound, raising expectations for a fix in future versions.

Microsoft has emphasized that Canary channel builds may include features that will not be officially released. Therefore, Insiders participating in this development phase should be prepared for constant changes and testing. For those who decide to leave the Canary channel, a clean installation of Windows 11 will be necessary, as it is not possible to switch to a channel with lower build versions without this process.

This update is part of Microsoft’s commitment to continuous innovation, where user feedback is expected to play a valuable role in the evolution of the operating system.
