Northgate Forest Launches Reforestation Initiative with 4,000 Native Species in Spain.

In a notable demonstration of commitment to the environment, Northgate Renting Flexible, through its Bosques Northgate project, has carried out significant reforestation initiatives in Spain. Specifically, plantations have been made in San Andrés de Rabanedo, León, and in Redondela, Vigo, which are part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility plan.

The current environmental situation, dominated by the growing challenge of global warming, demands effective measures for its mitigation. Trees, considered the lungs of the planet, play a crucial role in absorbing carbon dioxide (CO₂). Northgate has decided to intensify this effort through its recent reforestation campaigns. In León, the event took place on October 27, where more than 30 volunteers gathered to plant 500 native trees. A similar action was carried out on November 10 in Vigo, with the assistance of 40 volunteers who planted another 500 species.

Bosques Northgate reflects a continuous effort, and these last two plantations constitute its eighth intervention in a process that has culminated in the planting of a total of 4,000 trees in various locations in Spain, such as Madrid, Málaga, Girona, Gijón, Bilbao, A Coruña, as well as León and Vigo.

The initiative is carried out in collaboration with Bosquia, an organization that provides its expertise to ensure that the reforestation meets strict scientific and environmental criteria. It is estimated that the recent plantations will help offset 43 tons of CO₂ in León and 36 in Vigo, which represents a significant positive impact in reducing carbon footprint.

Through these actions, Northgate not only seeks to offset carbon emissions, but also to promote biodiversity and social well-being. According to company statements, each tree planted represents a crucial step in the fight against climate change and the restoration of degraded natural ecosystems.

Northgate Renting Flexible, a subsidiary of the British multinational ZIGUP, stands as a leader in the flexible renting sector in Europe and Spain. With a fleet of 65,000 vehicles and an extensive network of workshops and branches, the company continues to show its commitment to environmental sustainability as well as innovation in mobility services.
