Here’s the translation to American English:

A new study titled “The IT Landscape for SMEs in 2026,” conducted by EasyVista and OTRS Group, has revealed significant insights into the current and future state of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the information technology sector. The research, which involved over 1,000 professionals from 11 countries, highlights the critical importance of artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool for improving operational efficiency and addressing the shortage of skilled personnel.

In the Spanish context, the study reveals that only 9% of SMEs have reached an adequate level of maturity in IT service management (ITSM). However, 51% of companies that have not yet achieved this level claim they are just one step away from doing so. Priorities for the coming year focus on automating workflows and incorporating advanced tools that integrate AI.

Unlike other nations, respondents in Spain show less concern regarding IT security, with only 28% of responses related to this issue. This sharply contrasts with countries like Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, where the figure rises to 41%, reflecting greater regulatory pressure. The report also points out that areas such as human resources, customer service, and finance in Spanish SMEs present significant opportunities for improving ITSM adoption, although their usage is in line with the global average.

Common challenges faced by Spanish companies include the slow resolution of IT problems, affecting 42% of them, as well as a lack of integration of tools (37%) and budget constraints (42%). Additionally, 34% of SMEs indicate that the shortage of specialized IT staff is a significant hurdle. To address these challenges, the majority of companies believe it is essential to invest more in internal training and automation and artificial intelligence solutions, with support rates of 68% and 62%, respectively. Only 22% have been able to effectively integrate their IT service management systems.

Globally, 87% of organizations interviewed recognize AI as crucial for optimizing ITSM and ITAM processes. In Spain, its use is increasing in applications ranging from automating repetitive tasks to data analysis for strategic decision-making. However, the implementation of generative AI poses common challenges, such as concerns about cybersecurity and a lack of knowledge regarding its development and management.

OTRS Group and EasyVista are at the forefront of this digital transformation, offering solutions that enhance data management and allow organizations to move more confidently toward greater automation and optimization of operations.
