Opening of the Advanced Course in Political Talent and Leadership at the Political Leadership Institute.

On Friday, September 6, 2024, at 4:00 pm, the presentation of the Advanced Course in Talent and Political Leadership took place in the main hall of the Goethe-Institut España in Madrid. The ceremony was opened by María Dolores de Cospedal, president of the Institute of Political Leadership, and had the collaboration of the Catholic University San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM) and the sponsorship of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Foundation.

Prominent figures present at the event included the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, Ludger Gruber, representative of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in Spain, Ingo Stender, minister counsellor of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Spain, and Pablo Salvador Blesa Aledo, vice-rector of UCAM. During her speech, Cospedal emphasized the importance of this new high-level educational project for the training of leaders in the political and business fields.

The launch of this advanced course marks the formal beginning of the activities of the Institute of Political Leadership, presided over by Cospedal. The former Minister of Defense and former Secretary General of the PP, who has also held the position of President of Castilla-La Mancha and currently works as a lawyer, heads an institute of high political and executive training, made up of experts and professionals with extensive experience such as senators Carmen Riolobos and María Jesús Bonilla, deputy Agustín Conde, and computer engineer and entrepreneur Juan Antonio Muñoz-Gallego.

The Advanced Course in Talent and Political Leadership will be developed through a hybrid model, combining online and in-person modalities. Over 15 modules of exclusive content, the course will offer master classes taught by former presidents of the Government, personalities from strategic sectors, and up to 40 teachers with vast experience. The academic direction will be in charge of UCAM in collaboration with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Goethe Institute, using the Skiller Academy technological platform.

During the opening day, Professor Jaime Olmedo Ramos gave a lecture entitled “Hispanic History in its Global Dimension,” followed by a presentation by Professor Pilar Gómez Acebo on “From Science to Wisdom.” The former President of the Congress and former minister, Ana Pastor Julián, offered a dissertation on “Democratic Principles and Values.”

This course has generated great excitement and has a cast of highly prestigious professors, including former Presidents of the Government of Spain, former Chiefs of the Defense Staff, fathers of the Constitution, diplomats, former European Commissioners, professors, doctors, engineers, historians, journalists, psychologists, and senior executives of large companies and corporations. The institute aims to train and develop leaders who can face current challenges with integrity, excellence, and professionalism, generating synergies between the public and private sectors.
