Opening of the First Billboard Studies Center in Europe at GSD Las Artes College

The CARTE Center, a recognized leader in the field of studying and promoting advertising posters, has taken a significant step by launching CarteEscuela, a series of courses accredited by GSD, an educational institution known for its innovative approach. This collaboration highlights the commitment of both entities to preserving cultural heritage and offering high-quality education for those interested in design and visual communication.

With an impressive collection of over 11,000 pieces, the CARTE Center has established a training plan that covers a wide variety of topics. The courses offered include subjects such as the history of advertising posters, cultural project management, the impact of social media on culture, and 20th-century fashion. These programs not only focus on historical analysis but also incorporate contemporary tools that enhance the learning experience.

José Luis Miranda, president of GSD Cooperativa, emphasized in his speech the importance of education for the preservation of cultural heritage. He commented that “the accreditation of CARTE Center courses is a demonstration of our dedication to initiatives that promote learning and creativity in areas as crucial as design and visual communication.”

Àngela Suau, historian and expert in posters, also stressed the relevance of this collaboration, indicating that “Carte aims to become a reference in the study and promotion of vintage posters, benefiting from the support of the entire cultural ecosystem.” Suau highlighted that the alliance with GSD will facilitate that culture reaches a wider audience through accessible and quality study programs.

The CARTE Center not only focuses on the academic approach but also has a team of professionals with vast experience that enables dynamic and enriching learning in each of the courses. This positions the center as a reference in education on design, visual communication, and digital arts.

This new project also has the financial support of the European Union through the Next Generation grant, underscoring the interest in promoting educational initiatives that value and preserve cultural heritage. With CarteEscuela, the CARTE Center establishes itself as a fundamental space for the study and promotion of visual communication and cultural heritage, providing its students with the necessary tools to become authentic guardians of this legacy.
