Save Store, the prominent French multinational specializing in the repair and refurbishment of mobile devices, has made the decision to relocate its headquarters to Spain in 2024. This move represents a significant change in its labor model, as the company has decided to reduce the workweek from 38.5 to 37.5 hours. This adjustment entails a cut of 84 hours per year, translating to an additional 3.5 days off for its employees.
This initiative comes at a time when new regulations on reducing the workweek are being discussed in the country. But the reduction in hours is not the only measure adopted by Save Store; the company has also increased the number of vacation days from 23 to 26. Moreover, special days off have been introduced, such as each employee’s birthday, as well as December 24th and 31st, resulting in a total of 29 days off per year. These measures are designed to improve the work-life balance of the employees.
In order to facilitate work-life balance, Save Store has implemented a reduced schedule in the summer, with hours extending from 8:00 to 15:00 from June 16th to September 12th. During the period from December 22nd to January 2nd, employees will also have the option to telecommute under the same hours, allowing for greater flexibility during one of the most family-oriented times of the year.
Rodrigo Balassi, CEO of Save Store Iberia, commented on this transition and highlighted the exceptional talent present in Spain as one of the main reasons for relocating the headquarters from Paris to Madrid. Balassi emphasized that the company’s goal is to offer optimal working conditions to attract and retain highly skilled professionals. “With these measures, we not only ensure their well-being, but also reinforce our commitment to a modern and sustainable work model,” explained the CEO.
Founded in France in 2009, Save Store is dedicated to repairing and refurbishing mobile devices, with the aim of making a positive ecological impact by giving these products a second life. Currently, the company has more than 200 establishments in France, Poland, and Spain, where it has opened 40 stores since its arrival in 2016. In 2023, Save Store recorded revenues of 53 million euros, of which 14 million were generated in the Spanish market.
