Pedro Sánchez Ratifies the Government’s Commitment to Environmental Sustainability

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has visited the Accelera By Cummins electrolyzer manufacturing plant in Guadalajara, where green hydrogen is produced. In this context, Sánchez has highlighted the role of his administration in promoting this type of energy, pointing out that Spain has positioned itself as a leader in the sector, concentrating 20% of green hydrogen projects in Europe.

During the visit, the president was accompanied by the President of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, and the Government Delegate in the region, Milagros Tolón. In his statements, he emphasized the Spanish government’s commitment to the green transition, which he considers crucial for the country’s future. This initiative stands as one of the central pillars of the Executive’s environmental policy, framed within the Recovery Plan that allocates nearly 40% of the over 160 billion euros available for sustainability projects, with over 3 billion euros specifically directed towards renewable hydrogen.

The constant support and certainty that the Government provides to the sector have led to the portfolio of green hydrogen-related projects surpassing the targets set for 2030. This strategy not only aims to promote sustainability and reduce environmental impact, but also represents a crucial advance in the fight against climate change and the promotion of clean energy.

With this visit, Sánchez reiterates the Government’s commitment to a greener and more sustainable economy, aligning with the guidelines of the European Union and global objectives in energy and environmental matters.
