Preventive Maintenance and Original Spare Parts: Key to Optimal Fleet Performance in 2024

In 2024, an analysis conducted by the Mobius Group has highlighted both established patterns and new trends in the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles. The company managed a total of 660,000 records for half a million vehicles, emphasizing the importance of preventive maintenance and the use of original parts. Additionally, a significant increase has been observed in the incorporation of plug-in hybrid vehicles in fleets.

The most common interventions in these vehicles show a clear focus on prevention. Quick mechanics lead the operations with 16.09% of the total, followed by scheduled inspections (13.20%), tire changes (13.09%), bodywork interventions (11.51%), and mechanical breakdowns (8.85%). These figures reveal a determined focus on maintenance that minimizes vehicle immobilization time. Through direct management with workshops throughout Spain, Mobius has channeled more than 20 million euros in labor hours.

Regarding the parts used, the report indicates that 78.53% of them are OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), while 20.09% come from the independent channel. Although sustainable alternatives, such as green and rebuilt parts, still have very low representation (1.08% and 0.30%, respectively), Mobius Group CEO, Fernando Pérez Granero, mentions a growing interest from customers in these options, although greater adoption is still needed. By provinces, Madrid stands out in parts demand, with 23.31%, followed by Barcelona, Málaga, Alicante, and Valencia. There has also been a higher consumption of parts in vehicles from French brands, which are common in rental fleets and insurance companies.

In the propulsion field, plug-in hybrid vehicles have reached 26.8% of the fleet managed by Mobius, a clear inclination towards electrification, driven by sustainability policies and sector renewal. Although 100% electric vehicles still represent 10%, this figure is notable as it doubles the current national average, which stands at 5.7% for 2024.

Mobius Group, specializing in technological management of fleet maintenance and repair services, continues its commitment to promote solutions that favor operational efficiency, prevention, and sustainability within the mobility ecosystem, optimizing every stage of the vehicle lifecycle.
