Preview announcement of Windows 11 Build 27766 in the Canary Channel.

Microsoft has today released the latest preview build of Windows 11, known as Build 27766, aimed at users in the Canary Channel. This update comes with a series of improvements and fixes to enhance the experience for those using this preview version of the operating system.

One of the most notable fixes is addressing an issue that was preventing users from rolling back to previous versions, specifically from Build 27764. This issue was causing an error that was blocking the installation and use of certain third-party applications, due to an incorrect policy in the system.

Additionally, Microsoft has tackled issues that were causing an increase in rollbacks associated with error code 0xc190010. This error can occur for various reasons, and users have been urged to provide feedback if they continue to face difficulties so that the development team can conduct a deeper analysis.

Another area improved in this version is the taskbar and system tray, where a bug causing frequent crashes in the Windows Explorer has been fixed. This problem had been reported by several Insiders after clean installations or complete system restarts.

Despite the improvements, there are recognized issues in this Build that users should be aware of. An important aspect to mention is that owners of new PCs joining the Canary Channel with Copilot+ will lose the ability to log in using Windows Hello, requiring the setup of a new PIN. Additionally, an issue with the display of window edges and shadows, as well as the window opening animation, has been identified, even in cases where these settings are disabled.

Microsoft has reminded Insiders that Canary Channel versions reflect the most recent changes in the platform’s development cycle. It is important to note that these versions should not be considered representative of a specific release, as features being tested may not be implemented in the final product. Changes are typically introduced in phases, starting with a small group of Insiders and gradually expanding based on feedback.

For those wishing to exit the Canary Channel, it is recommended to perform a clean installation of Windows 11, as it is not possible to switch to a channel receiving builds with lower build numbers without following this technical procedure.
