This update offers users the opportunity to experience several new features by enabling a specific function in their device settings. Among the highlighted features is the ability to share files directly from jump lists on the taskbar, making file management easier through the menu that appears when right-clicking on applications such as Notepad.
A notable change in this version is the reintroduction of the gamepad keyboard layout in the on-screen keyboard of Windows 11. This functionality, which was previously being implemented, allows users to navigate and type using an Xbox controller, providing those who prefer this interaction method with a more user-friendly tool for their devices.
In terms of accessibility, new functionalities have been incorporated into the Narrator scan mode, allowing users to skip links and quickly access lists within documents or web pages. This improvement is especially useful when navigating through extensive emails, articles, or pages of detailed information, such as those found on Wikipedia.
The update also enhances the voice recognition experience in Windows, both in text-to-speech and speech-to-text conversion. Those utilizing tools such as Narrator, voice access, live captions, and live translations, may receive notifications to manually update their language packages through the Microsoft Store.
Additionally, a problem affecting the lock screen has been fixed, where a message incorrectly indicating that users were offline and that widgets were not available was being displayed.
Microsoft reminds Beta channel users that these updates are based on the 23H2 version of Windows 11 and clarifies that many features in development may not be officially released. New functionalities are gradually deployed and could be modified, removed, or replaced based on the feedback the company receives.
