RD Fashion Foundation Presents Its First Capsule Collection in Madrid to Boost the Internationalization of Dominican Fashion

The best Dominican designers gathered at Rooftop WOW Serrano to present an innovative collection aimed at conquering the international market. Under the motto “We are more than fashion, we are culture in motion,” the RD is Moda initiative has established itself as an important reference for Dominican talent within the context of Fitur, the International Tourism Fair.

The RD is Moda Foundation has launched its first capsule collection with the goal of bringing the essence of Dominican fashion to a global audience. The event, sponsored by Voluntariado Banreservas, Banreservas, and the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, took place in a festive and creative atmosphere and will be available until March 21st. Spain has been chosen as the starting point for this internationalization, given its relevance as a bridge between Latin America and Europe.

The Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, David Collado, attended the inauguration and highlighted in his speech that “Dominican fashion is one of our greatest cultural riches.” Collado emphasized the importance of this initiative in promoting local designers and improving the country’s image as an attractive and creative tourist destination.

Laura Fernández, president of the RD is Moda Foundation, expressed her excitement about the collection presentation in Spain, highlighting the close ties between both countries and the potential that Dominican fashion has in the European market. The capsule collection showcases the cultural diversity and passion present in the works of Dominican designers, who have reflected the richness of their heritage in their creations. Renowned designers such as Jenny Polanco, Carolina Socias, and Mayle Vásquez have participated, incorporating characteristic elements of Dominican culture in their pieces.

The event also brought together influential figures from the fashion and tourism sectors, who showed their support for the initiative. Among them were Banreservas President Samuel Pereyra and Noelia García de Pereyra, president of Voluntariado Banreservas, who stated that “fashion is a means of society’s expression.”

With this proposal, the RD is Moda Foundation positions itself as a catalyst for Dominican talent, seeking to open new opportunities on the international stage and celebrating the cultural identity of the Dominican Republic in each of the designs it represents.
