Recent Advances at Hospital del Mar: Innovations and Services for the Community

The Hospital del Mar Institute of Healthcare Vocational Training has achieved a significant breakthrough by receiving two grants from the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, and Sports. These funds are intended for the development of innovation and knowledge transfer projects in the field of Vocational Training, as part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, funded by the Next Generation EU funds from the European Union.

The aim of the selected proposals is to promote digitization, sustainability, and entrepreneurship in the educational field. These projects seek to optimize the professional skills of students, preparing them for a labor market that is increasingly oriented towards advanced technologies. Collaborative work is essential in these initiatives, which involve cooperation between educational institutions and companies.

One of the most innovative projects is the Anatomy 4.0 Classroom, which involves the participation of institutes from various autonomous communities in collaboration with Siemens Healthineers. This initiative aims to revolutionize the learning of anatomy and physiology through the use of technological classrooms and innovative methodologies, promoting active participation by students.

On the other hand, the project entitled ‘Design and 3D printing of radioequivalent mannequins through industry 4.0’ is led by the CEIFP Canastell in Alicante. This project, in collaboration with specialized companies, focuses on developing 3D printed mannequins with radioequivalent properties, improving practical training in radiology.

Both projects are designed to create connections between the educational and industrial sectors, strengthening the practical training of students and aligning it with the needs of the current labor market. Thanks to these grants, the Hospital del Mar FP Institute consolidates its position as a benchmark in Healthcare Vocational Training, demonstrating a strong commitment to educational innovation and excellence in preparing future healthcare professionals.
