The Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Lightweight Facades and Windows, ASEFAVE, has expressed serious concern about the increasing administrative requirements facing the sector. The association asserts that guidelines coming from Brussels not only add a considerable bureaucratic burden, but also threaten the competitiveness of companies in the sector, particularly small and medium-sized ones.
In recent weeks, ASEFAVE has observed the announcement of new measures that create the perception of overregulation in business activity. According to the association, this not only complicates the functioning of companies, but also negatively affects smaller ones, which are forced to allocate resources to managing bureaucracy instead of focusing on their growth and development.
Furthermore, ASEFAVE points out that this excessive increase in regulations, lacking a proper evaluation of its impacts, creates obstacles that increase production costs and limit innovation within the sector. In this sense, the association has commented on the tariff policy promoted by U.S. President Donald Trump, suggesting that an excess of regulation in Europe could be frowned upon from the United States, further intensifying pressure on European companies.
Faced with this issue, ASEFAVE requests administrations to conduct a thorough review of the regulatory framework, advocating for harmonization that allows meeting quality standards without sacrificing the operational capacity of companies. The association highlights the importance of avoiding unnecessary bureaucratic burdens and adapting regulations to market realities, which are largely dominated by microenterprises. This approach, they argue, is essential for promoting competitiveness and creating an environment conducive to employment and innovation.
Lastly, ASEFAVE demands authorities to conduct a detailed analysis of the effects of overregulation and implement measures to reduce barriers that hinder the efficiency of the sector. The warnings from experts within the European Union about the risk of a possible economic decline if this path continues underscore the urgency of the association’s request.
