Windows Insider program users have received a new update for Windows 10, version 22H2, called build 19045.6276 (KB5063842). This update has been released in the Preview Channel, allowing interested users to explore the latest improvements and fixes for the operating system.
Among the new features, the update to settings related to mobile operator profiles stands out, as well as the resolution of display issues for certain characters in text boxes. Issues related to the enumeration of webcam devices in Remote Desktop Services environments have also been addressed.
A noteworthy aspect of this update is the fix for a bug in Windows Hello that caused the Narrator screen reader to misidentify the “Enhance Facial Recognition Protection” option. In the area of family safety, an issue that prevented the proper functioning of the “Request Permission” approval flow for blocked apps has been resolved.
Additionally, improvements have been made to the removable storage access policy, and issues with the input method editor for extended characters in Simplified Chinese have been resolved.
Among the most notable new features is a function that will allow customers using the commercial ESU solution without a Windows 10 key, along with a subscription to Windows 365, to block outgoing network traffic, thus facilitating compliance with stringent security policies.
Finally, the “Backup for Organizations” solution is now available, making it easier to transition devices with enterprise-level backup and restoration. This tool aims to maintain organizational productivity by minimizing disruptions, ensuring business continuity and organizational resilience.
