Resolution Investors LLP has launched its new flagship global equity strategy, called Core Global Equity, aimed at capitalizing on opportunities arising from the climate transition. This firm seeks to transform conventional stock investment approaches by integrating stringent climate criteria into the selection of high-quality companies that will benefit from the decarbonization of the economy.
The strategy is distinguished by its focus on a concentrated portfolio that includes 30 publicly traded companies across various sectors, aligned with the MSCI World Index. It will be offered in a UCITS SFDR Article 9 format, allowing for daily liquidity, and a complementary vehicle is anticipated to launch in the U.S. market.
The founding team of Resolution comprises investors with a collective experience exceeding a century, and its portfolio manager, David Lowish, has emphasized the significance of the climate transition as a key driver in the global economy. Lowish asserts that Resolution’s approach combines rigorous fundamental analysis with thorough scrutiny of the stocks that are leading the way toward a lower carbon future.
Andrew Mobbs, co-portfolio manager, has highlighted the need for climate strategies that overcome the limitations of current available options, emphasizing a proposition that links investment quality with alignment to environmental goals. Meanwhile, Akhil Monappa, also a co-portfolio manager, has noted his focus on companies that demonstrate strength and preparedness for a low-carbon economy. Rob Brown, director of climate research, has underscored Resolution’s commitment to those companies generating a positive impact on emissions reduction.
Additionally, Resolution Investors has established a strategic alliance with Harrington Cooper, acting as a minority partner. This collaboration is designed to facilitate access to cross-border assets and expand the firm’s fund management capabilities.
The founding team, composed of professionals with prominent backgrounds in investment and sustainability, anticipates that their collective experience will enhance Resolution’s ability to generate risk-adjusted returns in an increasingly climate-focused world.
