Worldline, one of the world leaders in payment services, has officially announced its participation in the “Open Innovation Challenge,” an initiative designed to foster collaboration with strategic partners in improving transportation solutions and personalizing the traveler experience through the application of data and artificial intelligence (AI). This program, driven by ACCIÓ, the Agency for Business Competitiveness, the Generalitat de Catalunya, and Enterprise Europe Network, aims to connect large international companies with innovators who can help them solve their technological challenges.
The challenge is structured in two phases. The first involves companies formulating technological challenges associated with areas such as artificial intelligence, big data, Internet of Things, mobility, and robotics. The second phase offers technological companies and startups the opportunity to present their capabilities and proposals to companies seeking specific solutions.
From March 3 to 6, face-to-face meetings will be held at the MWC Open Innovation Challenge, which will take place at the Fira Gran Vía in Barcelona during the 4YFN congress. Worldline will be present on March 5, offering interested companies the opportunity to address their particular challenge.
Worldline’s challenge focuses on how to leverage data and AI to enhance the traveler experience. This involves a deep analysis of preferences, travel patterns, and passenger behaviors in order to offer options and services tailored to their needs. Furthermore, the proposal is framed within a sustainability approach, promoting the transition to more ecological modes of transportation.
This challenge also includes the integration of multimodal transportation, encompassing trains, buses, and trams, and emphasizes the importance of using public sources of open data. José María López, Coordinator of the Innovation Committee at Worldline Iberia, highlighted that “our challenge seeks to establish a connection with startups to explore synergies on how to use data and artificial intelligence to enhance the traveler experience within our Transportation and Mobility Solutions.”
