Roberto Cuadrado assumes the presidency of the Spanish Youth Organization.

The Spanish Youth Organization (OJE), a pioneering entity in leisure activities and non-formal education, has appointed Roberto Cuadrado as its new national president. Cuadrado, who previously held the position of secretary general for the past three years, has taken over from Juan José Domínguez Navarro, the organization’s president since 2012.

At the appointment ceremony, held at the Gredos de Buitrago de Lozoya School, prominent figures such as Laura Castilla Rodríguez, director general of Youth in the Community of Madrid, and Andrea González Henry, president of the Youth Council of Spain, accompanied by vice president Juan Antonio Báez Morín, were in attendance. Both highlighted the importance of OJE’s work in the training and development of Spanish youth.

The ceremony included the presentation and delivery of the latest edition of the Usía Forum Book, carried out by Francisco Javier Pascual, director of the Usía Forum Steering Committee. This book is a practical guide to applying the eleven points of the Organization’s Promise in daily life. Following this presentation, the institutional act of the handover of the National Presidency took place, where new members were presented and named.

In his acceptance speech, Roberto Cuadrado emphasized the honor and great responsibility of assuming the presidency of an entity with such relevance and a history of dedication to Spanish youth. He highlighted that one of the main goals of his mandate will be to further promote what OJE represents today, emphasizing its ability to adapt to social changes in recent decades. He also highlighted the inclusion of women in leadership positions within the organization and its historical commitment to gender equality, as well as OJE’s active participation in environmental projects such as LIBERA. Additionally, Cuadrado reiterated that values such as tolerance, social justice, diversity, and interculturality are essential for the organization.

The National Board also had the presence of former national chiefs of OJE, José Ignacio Fernández de Carranza y Delgado and Rogelio López Parodi, who shared their experiences and testimonies with attendees.

The event concluded with a varied agenda that combined leisure and fellowship moments with work activities, such as the presentation of financial results and the management report for the last fiscal year. This weekend of activities strengthened the bonds among organization members and laid the groundwork for future projects and challenges.
