Samsung and French Visionaries Raymond and Simon Depardon Bring Fresh Perspective to Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games with New Artistic Campaign.

Samsung Electronics, global partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, has launched a new artistic campaign called “Olympic Games Instants Shared #withGalaxy” in Paris. Created by legendary French photographer Raymond Depardon and his son Simon Depardon, this initiative showcases a series of captivating images that celebrate the beauty of sports and the iconic architecture of the City of Light. The campaign is displayed in emblematic locations in Paris, contributing to fuel the spirit of the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Raymond Depardon, known for his iconic photographs of Olympic athletes from 1964 to 1980, collaborates on this project with his son Simon, who has captured images of some of the newer disciplines of the Games. The exhibition includes black and white photographs by Raymond himself alongside new color images by Simon. These works feature prominent athletes from Team Samsung Galaxy, such as Sarah Bee in Breaking, Aurelien Giraud in Skateboarding, Mejdi Schalck in Sport Climbing, and Yvan Wouandji in Blind Football. The exhibition will be available until September 2024 in nine iconic locations in Paris such as Rue du Louvre, Pont de la Concorde, and Rue des Pyramides.

Simon Depardon expressed his enthusiasm for participating in this project and highlighting both the athletes’ sports skills and human aspects through the portraits. “The performance capabilities of the Galaxy S24 allowed us to create something that artistically fits the city,” he emphasized.

The campaign allows fans to participate by sending messages of support to Team Samsung Galaxy through a QR code present in each image. These messages will be displayed at the Samsung Olympic Rendezvous on Champs-Elysées 125, as well as at the Village Plaza, the athlete lounge within the Olympic and Paralympic Village, during the Games.

Stephanie Choi, EVP and Head of Marketing at Samsung Electronics Mobile Experience Division, emphasized the Games’ mission to unite the world in a spirit of openness. “Through our collaboration with Raymond and Simon Depardon, Samsung is using Galaxy’s innovative technology to write another chapter in the almost 40-year history of supporting the best ideals that the Olympic and Paralympic Games have to offer,” she commented.

Additional locations for the 10 campaign images, including two legendary photos by Raymond and eight new ones by Simon Depardon, span places such as Gare de L’Est, Quartier Saint-Germain, Porte d’Orléans, Stade de France, Rue Vieille du Temple, and Opéra.

Samsung, which has been a global partner of the Olympic Games since Nagano 1998 and the Paralympics since Torino 2006, continues to support both competitions through technological innovations in wireless communications and computer equipment, with technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, and 5G, which will transform the Games experience for a global audience.
