Samsung Electronics has solidified its leadership in the digital signage market for fifteen consecutive years, being named the number one manufacturer by market research firm Omdia. In 2023, the company not only dominated the global market with a 33% market share, but also sold over two million units, setting a record in its sales.
“Achieving the top spot in the global signage market for 15 consecutive years reflects our commitment to innovation and our ability to adapt to market conditions and the needs of our customers,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display business. “We will continue to provide maximum value to our customers by offering devices, solutions, and specialized services that address their diverse needs.”
Samsung stands out for regularly introducing differentiated signage products that meet the needs of various business environments. Among its innovations are “The Wall,” the world’s first modular display with micro LED technology, Smart Signage with a slim design and uniform bezel, and outdoor signage tailored for sports markets, landmarks, and electric vehicle charging stations. Additionally, the Samsung Interactive Display offers advanced educational tools for teachers and students.
The expansion of the “The Wall” lineup is a clear indication of Samsung’s innovation and technological leadership. This product has been chosen by customers for its convenience and unique use cases, being preferred in luxury hotels such as Atlantis The Royal in Dubai and the Hilton Waikiki Beach in Hawaii.
Samsung’s leadership in the digital signage industry is reflected in its commitment to innovation in products and services. An example of this is the introduction of the world’s first transparent micro LED display in January, recognized by industry experts as the next generation of commercial displays, winning awards such as “Most Mind-Blowing LED” and “Best Transparent Display” from the American media outlet rAVe.
The recent introduction of the Samsung Visual eXperience Transformation (VXT) platform demonstrates Samsung’s continued commitment to innovation in displays. This cloud-native platform combines content operations and remote signage in a single secure tool, offering services and solutions beyond hardware, ensuring seamless operation and management.
Looking ahead, the global digital signage market is expected to experience rapid growth, with a projected annual increase of 8%, bringing the market size to $24.6 billion in 2027, up from $14 billion in 2020.
