Samsung Electronics, a global leader in the display industry, has achieved the number one position in global sales of OLED monitors just one year after launching its first OLED model, the 34″ Odyssey OLED G8, a monitor aimed at gamers. According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), Samsung has captured a 34.7% market share in the global OLED monitor market based on total revenue and a 28.3% market share based on sales volume in 2023.

In addition to its advancement in the OLED monitor market, Samsung has maintained its leadership in the global gaming monitor market for the fifth consecutive year, recording a 20.8% market share in terms of total revenue. Since entering the OLED market, Samsung has continued to innovate and receive praise for new monitors, including the acclaimed Odyssey OLED G9, which has been praised by experts and critics worldwide.
During CES 2024, Samsung announced an expansion of its OLED monitor line, introducing three new products:
– The Odyssey OLED G8 with a 32″ 4K UHD resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03ms response time.
– The Odyssey OLED G6 with a 27″ QHD resolution, a 360Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03ms response time.
– An update to the Odyssey OLED G9 with a dual 49″ QHD resolution in a 32:9 format, a 240Hz refresh rate, and new features.
These new OLED models have impressed early critics and have already won awards. During CES 2024, the Odyssey OLED G9 was named an Honoree at the CES® 2024 Innovation Awards.
Samsung will continue to diversify its gaming monitor lineup by introducing new models in the Odyssey OLED series, each leveraging Samsung’s patented OLED technology.
