Samsung Medison has generated significant interest in the international medical community with its innovative range of ultrasound diagnostic solutions, focusing on the various stages of a woman’s life, from pregnancy to menopause. The presentation of these advanced technologies will take place during the congress of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG 2025), which will be held in Cancun, Mexico, on September 14. The event will be themed “From Challenges to Solutions: Experience Innovation.”
One of the standout innovations is the HERA Z20, a diagnostic device specifically created to meet the health needs of women throughout their life cycle. This device allows healthcare professionals to comprehensively manage various health conditions, ranging from gynecological issues in adolescents to monitoring during pregnancy and the aging process.
The HERA Z20 incorporates PelvicAssist™, a feature that performs automatic analysis of various pelvic regions and measures the area of the levator hiatus, providing 3D images. Additionally, Samsung Medison has developed a diagnostic reporting system that aligns with standard clinical guidelines, facilitating the diagnosis of complex conditions such as uterine fibroids and endometriosis through the simplification of procedures.
Also being showcased is the Mini ER7, an ultra-compact probe that reduces the head size by 63% compared to conventional probes. This design aims to minimize discomfort for patients during gynecological exams, particularly benefiting adolescents and elderly women.
Given the increasing age of women becoming mothers, high-risk pregnancies have risen, presenting a significant challenge. In response, Samsung Medison has incorporated a Ophthalmic Artery feature, allowing for early detection of systemic vasoconstriction, a key element in identifying preeclampsia. This is complemented by the HeartAssist™ system, enabling real-time monitoring of cardiovascular conditions throughout pregnancy.
Efficiency in workflow processes for healthcare professionals is one of the primary goals behind Samsung Medison’s innovations. With the Live ViewAssist™ technology, the system automatically extracts up to 39 ultrasound images and offers automated annotations, significantly reducing the time needed to reach a diagnosis. Additionally, the QualityCheck feature ensures accuracy by assessing the quality of the obtained images.
Jihyun Kim, head of the customer experience group at Samsung Medison, emphasized that the HERA Z20 is not merely an enhancement of existing equipment but a comprehensive solution designed to support women’s health at every stage, combining artificial intelligence with clinical expertise to optimize diagnosis and alleviate pressures on professionals in the field, thus making a significant advancement in healthcare.
