Samsung Electronics has announced the release of their new single “Open Always Wins” in collaboration with K-Pop icons TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), consisting of SOOBIN, YEONJUN, BEOMGYU, TAEHYUN, and HUENINGKAI. The brand new Galaxy anthem, which was teased last week at the Galaxy Unpacked event, promotes goal-seeking with an open mindset, reflecting Galaxy’s core values of openness.
The song “Open Always Wins” is composed of a lively guitar riff and showcases the powerful voices of TXT. Band members SOOBIN, YEONJUN, TAEHYUN, and HUENINGKAI contributed to the songwriting, drawing from their own experiences and feelings of openness.
Jamie Park, VP and Head of the Experience Marketing Group, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, expressed pride in collaborating with the Galaxy Ambassadors, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, to create a brand anthem that authentically captures the spirit of openness. He added that they hope to inspire listeners to embrace openness in their own lives and the experiences and opportunities that come with it.
The theme comes to life in a new music video interweaving scenes of TXT preparing for a performance with appearances from Samsung Galaxy athletes, celebrating their efforts and challenges in various sports.
The single will be released today at 1 PM (KST) on multiple music platforms, including YouTube Music, Spotify, Melon, Genie, Bugs, Flo, and Vibe. The music video will be available on Samsung’s official YouTube channel. Additionally, the “Open Always Wins” dance challenge will be launched, encouraging fans worldwide to show their support and cheer on their favorite athletes.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER commented on the project, highlighting how they have infused their single with a sincere message of encouragement, urging everyone to bravely face challenges without being discouraged by failures. “We believe that those who overcome and progress through obstacles are the true champions,” they noted.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER, consisting of SOOBIN, YEONJUN, BEOMGYU, TAEHYUN, and HUENINGKAI, have established themselves as icons of Generation Z through their soundtracks representing the common experiences and emotions of the current generation. Their fourth mini album “Minisode 2: Thursday’s Child” debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 and remained on the chart for 14 weeks, while their fifth mini album “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” debuted at the top of the list in January 2023. In July 2022, the band became the first K-pop group to perform at LOLLAPALOOZA in Chicago and returned a year later in August 2023 as the first K-pop group to headline the festival. TOMORROW X TOGETHER has been nominated for prestigious awards such as the American Music Awards and the People’s Choice Awards, winning at the MTV EMAs 2022 (Best Asian Act) and the MTV VMAs 2023 (PUSH Performance of the Year).
