Samsung Unveils Enhanced Portfolio at RSNA 2024 – Samsung Global Newsroom

Samsung Electronics and its subsidiary Samsung Medison dazzled at the 2024 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) with an impressive display of their portfolio of technological solutions for the medical sector. This event, held from December 1 to 5 in Chicago, was the perfect stage to showcase innovations that promise to transform medical diagnostics, especially in pediatrics.

Among the novelties, the company presented two products that captured the attention of attendees: the ‘TA2-9’ ultrasound probe, designed specifically for pediatric cardiac diagnostics, and the ‘GF 85’ digital X-ray system. The TA2-9 probe, with a significantly smaller head than those used in adults, optimizes accuracy in detecting congenital heart diseases in the youngest patients. The GF 85 system, on the other hand, offers an economical and simple infrastructure by eliminating the need for ceiling mounting, while ensuring high-quality images with low radiation doses, resulting in increased safety during pediatric diagnostics.

One of the portfolio’s stars was the S-Vue™ imaging engine, which minimizes radiation exposure by up to 50%. All digital X-ray products integrating this technology have been FDA certified as low dose, making them an ideal option for diagnostics in children and adolescents.

However, another key innovation was presented by NeuroLogica Corporation, a Samsung subsidiary, which introduced the OmniTom Elite mobile CT. This device, already in use in leading pediatric hospitals in the United States, allows for quick and safe clinical decisions by reducing risks associated with patient transport. It guarantees high-resolution images with low noise levels, surpassing conventional methods in efficiency.

During RSNA, Samsung not only showcased products but also offered learning sessions led by recognized experts in the medical field. These included presentations by Dr. Nina Vincoff on breast cancer detection through ultrasound solutions and by Dr. Farhad Farzanegan, who explored how advances in CT can improve hospital flow. In addition, Dr. Jon Jacobson conducted live demonstrations using the acclaimed Premium RS85 Prestige ultrasound, known for its image quality.

Vijay, leader of the Artificial Intelligence and Informatics group at Samsung Medison, expressed satisfaction with the enthusiastic reactions from medical professionals: “I discovered great potential through the high praise of the medical professors who visited the event. Our goal is to strengthen our technological leadership in radiology and obstetrics, and expand our presence in new markets through our AI capabilities.”

These presentations underscore Samsung’s commitment to innovation in medical technology, always seeking to improve accuracy and safety in diagnostics to offer superior healthcare.
