Schaeffler Launches Power-Adapt to Optimize Energy Efficiency and Transparency in Consumption

Schaeffler has launched Power-Adapt, an innovative energy monitoring solution that aims to improve energy efficiency in manufacturing processes and provide greater transparency in energy consumption. This technology stands out for its easy integration into existing systems of various industrial facilities, allowing companies to adapt smoothly to the necessary changes in their equipment. Additionally, thanks to public subsidies and its attractive cost, organizations can recover their investment in a shorter time through significant savings in energy consumption and operating costs.

The official presentation of Power-Adapt will take place at the Advanced Factories fair, which will be held from April 8 to 10, 2025 in Barcelona. During the event, Schaeffler will showcase a complete portfolio of products, emphasizing its advanced energy monitoring solutions ranging from condition monitoring to assembly and lubrication.

Power-Adapt provides companies with detailed information on their energy consumption and expenses in buildings and facilities, including not only electricity but also gas and water. Its flexibility of application is one of its most outstanding features, allowing its use in both new installations and those already equipped with energy management systems. The LoRaWAN technology guaranteed by Power-Adapt allows data transmission over long distances, even through thick walls, with results immediately accessible through an intuitive web interface.

In addition to monitoring energy consumption, Power-Adapt is also able to track environmental variables such as temperature, humidity, and CO2 levels. This system allows companies to detect anomalies through alarms generated by monitoring baseline loads and consumption peaks. Data consolidation from different devices aids in the analysis of process and infrastructure efficiency, which becomes vital for informed decision-making and continuous optimization of operations, contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

A standout example of the success of this solution is Smurfit Westrock, a global leader in paper packaging manufacturing, which has implemented Power-Adapt in 20 of its plants. Thanks to this tool, the company has achieved a significant increase in energy efficiency, with a 57% reduction in its electricity consumption outside of production hours. Driven by these results, Smurfit Westrock plans to expand the implementation of Power-Adapt to seven additional plants in France in the near future.
